Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Takumi Minamino on loan from Liverpool before the transfer window shuts this evening.

According to journalist David Ornstein in The Athletic, the Saints are working on a deal to sign the Japanese international on loan for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old, who earns £75k per week at Liverpool, has struggled for game time in Jurgen Klopp’s side this season, despite the injury problems at Liverpool, and has made just seven starts in all competitions.

Minamino joined from RB Salzburg in December 2019 but has struggled to impress in his time with the Reds thus far, with just four goals and two assists in his 31 appearances for the club.

Even with Liverpool’s recent goalscoring woes, Klopp was reticent to turn to Minamino, with the winger’s six-minute cameo against Burnley his only Premier League appearance of 2021.

Therefore, it seems as if he is going to struggle to force his way into the first-team picture with Liverpool, especially now the Reds look to have rediscovered their form in front of goal in the last two fixtures against West Ham and Spurs.

A move to Southampton for the rest of the season could be the ideal way for Minamino to get regular football in the Premier League, in the hope that he could return to the Reds a much more confident player in the summer, as unfortunately, it seems as if he will be sat on the bench for much of the season if he stays on Merseyside.

Earlier this season, Klopp labelled the 26-year-old a “machine” for his work rate in a Champions League fixture against Ajax, and a loan move to Southampton could allow him to showcase this on a more regular basis, in a deal that could potentially suit both parties.

Hopefully, for Minamino, a deal with the South Coast club can be agreed, as he deserves a chance to show what he can do in the Premier League, something he was always going to struggle to achieve with the Reds due to the quality of their front three.

Manchester City look set to make a huge mistake with academy sensation Jayden Braaf, as the winger looks to have lost patience with his lack of first-team opportunities with the Citizens.

Manchester Evening News have suggested that the club are actively looking to sell the former PSV Eindhoven youngster in the January transfer window, despite him signing a lengthy contract extension with the club in 2019.

The report suggests that the 18-year-old is keen to leave the Citizens, due to a lack of first-team opportunities with Pep Guardiola’s side.

Despite establishing himself as one of the most exciting players in City’s academy, having scored 12 goals in 24 games for the U23 side, he still hasn’t made a first-team appearance for the Citizens.

It seems therefore, that City could be in for a repeat of the situation that saw Jadon Sancho depart the club in 2018, with the Englishman having since established himself as one of the brightest young talents in European football with Borussia Dortmund.

Since leaving the Citizens, the winger has contributed a superb 37 goals and 49 assists in 115 appearances for the Bundesliga side, so it is definitely fair to suggest they made a mistake in letting him go.

Braaf has drawn comparisons with both Sancho and Leroy Sane for his playstyle, so it could definitely be argued that the club are making a mistake by not giving him a chance in the first-team and looking to sell him in January.

Former Manchester City U’23 coach Paul Harsley was full of praise for Braaf during his time managing the youngster, saying:

“Jayden’s a real handful for opposition full-backs when we can give him the ball and he’s got space to go and run at them.

“You can see with the goals he has scored and the chances he has created that – whether he goes outside or inside – he gives opposition defences all sorts of problems.

“He has performed well – along with all of the rest of them.

“Jayden has only just turned 17 and though he is still growing, it’s incredible to see his physique.”

The report suggests that Braaf attracted interest from Bundesliga sides in the summer, who were willing to pay around £8 million for his services, which, again, draws comparisons with Sancho, as he left for around £10 million, and is now valued at a massive £90 million.

City will want to ensure that if they do sell Braaf on a permanent deal, a buy-back clause is included, otherwise, it could prove to be a disastrous piece of business by the club’s sporting director Txiki Begiristain.

هذا لن يحدث لو لم يكن ريال مدريد قد باع رفائيل فاران ومارتن أوديجارد لكل من مانشستر يونايتد وآرسنال، اللذين وفرا على النادي الإسباني راتب النمساوي الدولي.

كان يسعى ريال مدريد للوصول إلى الصيف المقبل وخزائنه ممتلئة للتعاقد مع صفقات كبيرة والتنافس القوي مع كل من باريس سان جيرمان، مانشستر سيتي ومانشستر يونايتد.

يرغب ريال مدريد في التعاقد مع نجوم مميزين مثل كيليان مبابي، إيرلينج هالاند والعديد لتدعيم الصفوف تحت قيادة المدرب، كارلو أنشيلوتي.

Fulham haven’t spent all that much in this transfer window, with the majority of the deals they’ve completed being loan moves.

Alphonse Areola, Ola Aina and Ademola Lookman have all arrived on loan from abroad so far, while Mario Lemina joined on a temporary basis from Southampton.

The signing of Lemina means that, due to the rules, the Whites can only bring in one more Premier League player on loan, and with both William Saliba and Ruben Loftus-Cheek on the Whites’ radar, they may soon have a big decision to make.

Only one of Saliba or Loftus-Cheek can now be brought in on loan, and with both of those players seemingly being better options than Lemina, Fulham’s August swoop for the Gabonese midfielder is beginning to look rather silly.

Would you rather have a centre-back valued at £27m and an England international or a Southampton flop? It seems like a no-brainer to us, and Tony Khan’s move for Lemina is already starting to look daft.

Khan wasn’t to know that Saliba and Loftus-Cheek would become viable moves on deadline day, but using up a valuable loan spot on a midfielder who can’t even get into your first-team wasn’t the best idea in hindsight.

Lemina is yet to start a single league game for the Whites, and if Loftus-Cheek is brought in he may drop even further down the pecking order, and even worse, that would leave the London club unable to sign Arsenal’s French defender.

Fulham are no strangers to bad decisions in the transfer market, but their bad signings usually take more than a couple of months to be judged as such.

Khan has now been left with a huge dilemma to choose between the Chelsea man and the Arsenal youngster, and it will be interesting to see who they opt for.

Having splashed the cash on three new players this window, there could be a mass exodus at Everton before next month’s transfer deadline, say emerging reports…

What’s the word?

According to the Mirror, the Toffees may have to shift several fringe players on in order to restore balance amongst the squad and one of last summer’s signings is thought to be among the names.

Alex Iwobi has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Carlo Ancelotti and it’s believed he could command a decent fee after he cost a total of £34m over a year ago.

The likes of Moise Kean, Yannick Bolasie, Sandro Ramirez and Mo Besic are also thought to be free to leave should a decent offer come in this window.

Costly catastrophe

Iwobi has flattered to deceive at Goodison Park all season, scoring just once in 25 appearances whilst averaging 1.3 dribbles, one key pass and 0.9 shots per game, via WhoScored.

The Nigerian international hasn’t even been named in either of Everton’s opening two fixtures – a Premier League away victory at Spurs and an EFL Cup second-round triumph over Harrogate Town earlier this week.

It appears that young prospect Anthony Gordon is even ahead of him in the pecking order now, which is hardly a good look for someone that cost a whopping £34m.

Even Darren Bent has slammed his form this term, claiming: “For all his endeavour – he does work really hard and he tries really hard – there’s no end product, there’s no quality there. Since he’s signed, he’s done next to nothing.”

Iwobi is also under contract until 2024 on wages thought to be £50k-per-week, per Spotrac.

Therefore, Marcel Brands’ gamble last summer has already cost the club in excess of £37m – and counting – so it may well even prove hard to shift him on this window.

Or at least, they’ll struggle to get anywhere near that total.

Whilst the Dutch director of football should be lauded for his midfield triple swoop of James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan, we mustn’t forget deals like Iwobi’s happened under his control.

It has been one costly catastrophe.

توجه يورجن كلوب المدير الفني لفريق ليفربول بطلب هام إلى اللاعبين قبل مباراة الغد أمام فريق مانشستر يونايتد، في بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

ويستضيف ملعب الأولد ترافورد مباراة الفريقين في إطار منافسات الجولة التاسعة من الدوري الإنجليزي، موسم 2021/22.

وأكد كلوب على ضرورة الدفاع بشكل بارع أمام مانشستر يونايتد، وذلك في ظل الشراسة الهجومية التي يتمتع بها الشياطين الحمر.

وقال كلوب في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “ليفربول إيكو” الإنجليزية: “إذا لم ندافع جيدًا أمام مانشستر يونايتد في ملعبهم، فلا أعرف سبب وراء ذهابنا إلى هناك، لأن الجودة التي يتمتعون بها على الصعيد الهجومي مذهلة للغاية”.

وأضاف: “لا أعتقد حقًا أنه من المحتمل أن نسجل ثلاثة أهداف في يونايتد، لكننا لم نفكر قبل أي مباراة في التسجيل أكثر مما نفكر في الدفاع”.

وأردف: “علينا التركيز على ذلك، ولكن ليس هذا فقط لأننا يجب أن نصنع ونلعب كرة القدم، من المهم أن تكون شجاعًا بشكل لا يصدق لأن كل كرة تخسرها أمام مانشستر يونايتد تُمثل تهديدًا كبيرًا”.

واستمر: “الأمر يتعلق بالهجمات المرتدة، وهو أمر خطير للغاية بسبب السرعة التي يتمتع بها مانشستر يونايتد، وكل تلك النوعية من الأشياء”.

واختتم: “من الجيد أن نواجه مانشستر يونايتد ولكن ما زلنا نريد القيام بذلك (الفوز) ونتطلع إليه، نعلم جميعًا أنها واحدة من أكبر المباريات في العالم، ستكون مباراة جيدة”.

Como nos últimos anos, a lateral direita será uma preocupação do São Paulo ao traçar o planejamento de 2016. No momento, o clube conta com Bruno e Auro para a posição, mas não são unanimidade e podem ser negociados.

Recentemente, a diretoria teve uma conversa com o empresário Eduardo Uram, agente de Bruno. Foram discutidos alguns assuntos, como a situação do volante Maicon, hoje no Grêmio – Uram também o representa. E nesta conversa o São Paulo foi informado do interesse do Flamengo no lateral-direito. Houve uma procura da diretoria do clube carioca, que ainda terá de vencer a eleição do próximo dia 7, mas se mantém alerta ao mercado.

A partir daí, a situação deve se desdobrar da seguinte maneira: ou os dirigentes oferecerão um novo contrato ao jogador, aumento e/ou extensão do vínculo que termina no fim do ano que vem, ou terão de ser firmes caso não queiram perdê-lo.

A negociação ficou encaminhada, até que, em uma nova conversa com Osorio, Auro foi convencido de que teria mais chances. Problema é que o colombiano saiu pouco depois e o lateral não jogou mais.

Agora, o panorama está mantido e quem representa o jovem quer saber qual a projeção do São Paulo para ele em 2016. Só que tudo vai depender da escolha do novo técnico.
